Description
This is what I believe to be rare 1894 National Cash Register model 332 register serial number 79765. I'm sure there is another of these out there but I have never seen or heard of another. It was produced as a 21 key "knocker" version of the model 33 that was no doubt aimed at a particular competitor. It was produced for only a short time.It is constructed of nickel plated brass and red brass/bronze and is in very good condition for a register that is 126 years old. It sports the fine scroll design cabinet. The plating is in overall very good condition and the register presents well but there is some wear through and flaking to the plating in the high touch areas of the cabinet with the worst being on the solid top. I don't see anything missing from it with the exception of the "Amount Purchased" topsign and the patent tag. It has the finger rail, bell silencer knob, lid arm, etc..
This register functions crisply and everything works well. All of the amount keys work, the drawer slides smoothly, the bell rings loudly, and it appears to add correctly. The price flags on top are well faded and many or most of them have lost the black paper number labels but are still quite easily read.
The drawer is tight and has less than the expected wear to it. It also contains the early bill weights and retains it's original paper label underneath although it is stained and difficult to read. The serial number on it does match the serial number of the register making this the original drawer.
It has the original large round, large font glass keychecks although the paint has faded from the years and 2 of them(20 & 80) are cracked but still held on tightly.
The dimensions on this are 15 3/4" wide by 15 1/8" front to back. It stands 17 3/8" high.
What you see is what you get.
This register weighs 93 pounds before packaging so local pickup is strongly encouraged and preferred but I will ship it insured and packaged by UPS if you so desire. I will need to make a plywood crate to protect it so that is why shipping charges are a bit high. I am also willing to drive up to 200 miles and meet you on a Saturday or Sunday for .00 per mile if this is something that might interest you. If you have some other proposal for retrieval of this item please contact me before bidding to make sure it is something we can agree on. If purchased in time transportation to the Springfield, Ohio show in Sept can be arraigned.
This item is being sold as is with no warranty or returns being offered.
