    Description

This is a very rare, thin, celluloid (early plastic) ruler produced by NCR and found at an estate sale in Dayton, Ohio. It appears to be a "quick guide" of instructions for setting the date. More specifically, the sample date on the ruler is July 20 37.
This appears to be in NEW condition with no cracks, chips, or scratches. There is NO degrading of the plastic. Because celluloid is breakable when bent too far and can degrade with time, it's unusual for an item like this to be in pristine condition after more than 80 years.
It would make a perfect gift for an NCR cash register collector! There were NO samples to be found of this type of ruler in an extensive online search.
According to a helpful eBay who knows vintage NCR equipment, "This guide is for setting up the stop bars for a model 3000 class accounting machine, now a very rare machine. The last 3000 I saw sold was a second hand one late in 1962."
Please see close up photos and ask if you have questions. Also, see feedback and purchase with confidence. This will be packed very carefully and shipped quickly from Ohio, with tracking.
